Business Intelligence , London: Post-graduates to join our analyst programme

S-RM is looking for exceptional graduates and post-graduates to join our analyst programme within our Business Intelligence division. The programme is structured around giving our analysts the skills, knowledge and confidence to run complex projects internationally.

Role and Responsibilities

Analysis is the heart of our business, and we pride ourselves on the calibre of our analysts and their development. Successful candidates should demonstrate intellectual curiosity, a passion for business and politics, sharp analytical skills, and a strong academic track record.
We are interested in candidates fluent in foreign languages, in particular Arabic, Russian, Farsi, French, German, Mandarin and Hebrew. Fluency in foreign languages is not, however, obligatory for this role.

There are opportunities for dynamic, talented analysts with strong leadership and organisational skills to progress rapidly within our growing Business Intelligence division. We provide a mixture of internal and external training for analysts to assist with their development, in addition to mentoring and ongoing support for their careers.

Analytical work at S-RM is varied and challenging: projects range from a few days to several months, and your work will regularly focus on different industries and countries. With every project you will be expected to build up knowledge of new industries, political trends, commercial developments, and key figures within business and politics. As a member of a regional desk, you will work alongside regional specialists, advisors and directors, who bring a wealth of knowledge and on-the-ground experience to each engagement.

Following your training, you will be responsible for completing open-source intelligence projects, where you will work with a great deal of independence. You will become skilled in using a range of research tools and databases and receive training in our research and analytical methodologies. Investigations typically involve detailed historical research, collating information from restricted-access public sources, analysis of the veracity of various media, and profiling companies and individuals.

You will also contribute to specific elements of more complex projects, such as on-the-ground investigations based on intelligence provided by our contacts. Good teamwork and clear communication are integral to the success of these engagements, where teams work together to address multi-faceted intelligence challenges in order to provide our clients with well-sourced, objective reporting on contentious and complex issues. Experienced analysts often travel to their regions with their teams to work on investigations and to develop S-RM’s network of contacts.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. Candidates will need at least a 2:1 degree to be considered for the role.
